series of programs that provide elementary and high school
teachers with knowledge of historical and contemporary
issues of racism, antisemitism and other forms of hate, along
with tools to help them address these topics in their
classrooms.

7 EQAO results were reviewed and are available at https://
www.eqao.com/. School Council expressed concerns about some
aspects of school and overall provincial performance, especially in
grade 6 math.
8 Principal profile: Nikki to send draft for Mr. Bunbury’s review Nikki

10 Treasurer's Report:
Christina and Kristina requested clarifications from Amanda. Report is in
progress.

11 Hot Lunch Program:
Some vendors (Hero Burger) are doing very well. Others have less
participation. Nikki had approached 2 Swiss Chalet locations, they are
reluctant to use Healthy Hunger. This option is still being explored.
A survey is suggested to receive additional feedback from parents.

12 Co-Chairs Update:
Movie Night:
•Movie night is scheduled for Jan 15th
• Pizza and Popcorn sales are being considered and will be available for
purchase on School Cash online shortly.
• 2 movies are being considered - on for JK-G6 to screen at the gym and
one for G7-G8 to screen at the library. School council to choose movies
from database.
25th Anniversary BBQ:
• June 11 is confirmed
• Fire It Up food vendor is confirmed
• School Council to discuss subcommittees for additional activities i.e.
games, crafts, face painting, etc.
February Fundraiser:
• Krispy Cream doughnut sales are being considered
• $15 per box (would yield a $7 profit per box)
• Potential date - February 13th (before Valentines Day and Family Day long
weekend)
Pro Grant:
• School council is looking into potential speakers to invite
• Mr. Bunbury suggested Paul Davis
Staff Appreciation breakfast Jan 30.
Spirit Wear:
• Link to purchase is available and was shared in Update from the Lake
• School council discussed the option of offering the traditional Sprit Wear in
addition to 25th anniversary. It was concluded that this year LWPS will only
offer the 25th anniversary, as it is a special addition.
13 School boundary meeting
The addition of Dr. Bette Stephenson Secondary School will affect school
boundaries. A meeting of affected schools is scheduled for February 9th
at 6:30pm (virtually).
Next school council meeting will be re-scheduled from Feb 3nd to Feb
9th to coincide with School Boundary meeting.
