About Us

History

Lake Wilcox P.S. is named after the lovely lake which is adjacent to the school property. For many years, Lake Wilcox has been a tranquil spot for city dwellers from Toronto to enjoy the beach, the lake, and the beauty of a small urban community.

In recent years, there has been a huge area of residential development in the Lake Wilcox area. We have been pleased to welcome many new families with young children to our area.

Our school motto is "Sharing, caring, striving for success."

Our school mascot is the Stingray.

Facilities

Lake Wilcox P.S. was officially opened in September of 2000. The present building replaced an earlier school which was built in 1955, and there has been a school in the Lake Wilcox community since the early 1930s.

After school care is offered at the school and is owned and operated by the YMCA.

Mission

The mission of Lake Wilcox P.S. is "to create a people-centred environment where students become educated, caring, confident, self-motivated citizens."

Touchstone

At Lake Wilcox, we have worked with our students, staff, and community to identify what we value and pride ourselves on.  These ideas are captured in our school touchstone which is something we all hold high and believe in.
